A bit more about me:

Prior to joining Premier Planning Group as a Managing Partner I worked at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management in the Baltimore area. This experience gave me the understanding of the differences between large firms and the flexibility operating as an independent practice provides. As an independent adviser I can work with all companies and investments rather than just a select handful.

I received my bachelors degree in Economics from the University of Maryland College Park. I hold my Series 7 and Series 66 registrations along with state life and health licenses. This allows me to focus on every piece of my clients financial “pie” rather than just one slice like some advisers.

I am on the investment committee for Indian Creek School helping to manage their endowment fund for future generations of students.

I was born and raised here in the Annapolis area. I now have the pleasure of raising my own family with my wife in the town that we have always called home.


What services do you and your firm provide?

Along with being a fully registered financial advisor I am a retirement income specialist. My area of expertise is addressing your individual situation and circumstances and then creating a road map to achieve your retirement goals. I look at the entire financial life to see how we can maximize your Social Security, pensions, and savings. I will also bring in other professionals such as CPA's and estate planning attorneys, when necessary, to ensure that all of your needs are met.

What types of clients do you specialize in?

While I work with clients of all ages, I specialize in working with those individuals who are nearing or are already in retirement.

Most of my clients fall within 5-10 years of retiring or are already retired when we start working together. I also work with individuals who receive a financial windfall due to a home or business sale and those that receive an inheritance and wish to save those funds for retirement.

What is your investment approach?

I use a system for my clients that I refer to as Red Money and Green Money. After we gather your financial data to make sure our plans will cover your needs, we'll allocate enough into Green Money to guarantee those needs are met. I like to call these your PAYchecks.

Red Money are investments that carry some risk and are tied to the market, but have the potential to grow. This covers the "extras" in your budget, and I refer to these as your PLAYchecks.

What are your licenses and certifications?

I received my Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of Maryland College Park. I have my Series 7 and Series 66 registrations, along with state insurance licenses.

How do you charge for your services, and how much?

I’m paid in a variety of ways, but most typically it is by a flat % of the assets you have with me. I am always happy to go over all potential methods of compensation in person based on each individuals situation.

Will I be working only with you or with a team?

At Premier Planning Group, we believe in the team approach. It is this team approach and our large back office staff that allows me as your advisor to focus solely on what I do best. I am your quarterback and all your meetings will be with me, however many day to day tasks and requests with your accounts can be handled by one of our staff members.

How much contact do you have with your clients?

I pride myself on making sure your questions are answered and your needs are met whenever they come up. I typically say it is good to have at least annual meetings however I have some clients that prefer to meet more often and some that prefer to simply be updated over the phone occasionally. My policy is that my door is always open and I make myself available to clients as often as possible.
